But what type of Snow Adventurer are you?
Nomad – you prefer to keep moving
Classic style cross country skiing is for you. It compares to running in terms of total body workout. You work muscles in your arms, legs and core with minimal impact on joints and ligaments. Plus it’s a great aerobic workout for your heart and lungs.
Adrenaline Junkie – you thrive on speed
Skate skiing is the more intense variation of x-country skiing. It’s more like speed skating, where you push off from foot to foot, gliding with rhythm. An amazing workout, it can burn 700 calories per hour.
Explorer – you like to discover new places on foot
If you love to hike, you’ll love snowshoeing. Snowshoes let you to float on top of the snow preventing you from sinking down. It’s easy on the joints. Hike at your own pace: slow, brisk or even at a running pace.
Hunter – you enjoy the game of seek and gather
Perhaps you like the challenge of exploring some of the key locations and lookout features at Scenic Caves on the Winter Scavenger Hunt. Pick up a map and hunt for clues marked by coloured snowshoes. It’s great fun for all ages.
Wildlife Fan – you are fascinated with the natural world around you
The 200 year old forest is set in a UNESCO designated biosphere reserve. During the winter months, keep an eye out for Nuthatches, Woodpeckers, Snowy Owls, Blue Jays, Chickadees and Hawks along with white-tailed deer, winter hares, porcupines and squirrels.
Sightseer – you delight in seeing places and things of interest
You’ll be astounded by the view. Southern Ontario’s longest 420 ft. Suspension Bridge is an iconic landmark. Suspended 25 meters above the valley floor, visitors can view 10,000 sq. km. of south Georgian Bay and countryside. In the winter, one of the snowshoe trails crosses the bridge. Skiers can leave their skiis at the top of the hill and walk down to it.
Social Media Fiend – you’re enthusiastic about sharing your experiences
Located at the highest point of the Niagara Escarpment, the panoramic lookout points provide you with exceptional photographic opportunities. You’re encouraged to share photos and videos via FB, TW, Instagram and You Tube.
Romantic – you colour your life using emotion and imagination
Moonlight and stars create a dramatic and romantic setting for adventure on the guided night snowshoe hikes. The headlamps illuminate your path over glistening powder snow creating an enchanting world of continually changing shapes. You find it mysterious and exhilarating.

Memories are most important to you. Whether frolicking at the Children’s Adventure Playground, making snow angels, roasting s’mores by the outdoor fire or warming up by the cozy woodstove, every family bonding moment becomes meaningful.
