Just had to let you know what a truly WONDER-FULL experience we had recently at the Caves. BRILLIANT!!

Our first time there in the summer season, I treated my 13 year old son to the Eco Adventure experience, which we loved from start to finish. From the initial warm and helpful telephone welcome, calling to make inquiries and book our tickets, to the friendly service at the orientation point, to our competent, witty and engaging guides for the next three hours, all your staff are to be commended for their professional, knowledgeable, and kind-hearted service. Although we booked over the phone, your website is flush with user-friendly information that makes booking and info-gathering easy and efficient. We had a ball!

We took to the treetops up front, right behind our guide, and loved the new experiential adventure immensely. I intentionally didn’t read up in advance to know what to expect but rather remained open-hearted to the fun and magic of it all. In spite of being a high-/low-ropes facilitator in California about 20 years ago and a rock climber I nevertheless found the opportunity exhilarating. The ziplines (300 & 1,000ft) were fabulous fun, the caves and the historical commentary fascinating, and the overall setting truly majestic.

Hats off to Scenic Caves – the owners and their dedicated staff – for this absolutely beautiful tourist attraction in Collingwood, Ontario. I felt so proud to have such a jewel of an offering on the doorstep to our home town.

And while my older son and I were on the Eco Adventure, my 11 year old son (who has severe autism) had a superb time with his caregiver over on the swings, the train, and the tractor-pulled wagon. Scenic Caves was a HUGE hit for him and I know we’ll be back time and again.

Can’t rave enough about it. Kudos to all for such a platinum-standard tourist attraction!

Historical Adventure & Exhilarating Fun! Quite AMAZING!

Amazing!!! WOW! Such a wonderful piece of nature and history and thrills all rolled into one! Even in the rain!

What a fun way to end a wonderful vacation week in Collingwood! The main reason we came to Collingwood was for the Scenic Caves & Thunderbird Zipline. (Fall hours for the Thunderbird Twin Ziplines is only Fri-Sun, so we came on a Friday!) For sure you need 3+ hours to visit if you want to take in EVERYTHING! It’s about 20 minutes from Collingwood downtown, & was very easy to find and easy to get to (even in the construction). What an amazing staff & crew they have! Everyone was personable & friendly and most had smiles on their faces! 🙂

We took the Eco Adventures Tour and it was amazing! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it, especially if you have a fear of heights you want to get over… it is AMAZING! The two Ziplines were so much fun. (& they give you fun ideas of how to go down them too!)The tree-top walk was breath-taking & crazy all rolled into one! The historical stories and jokes were an added bonus! Thanks soooo much to our amazing & wonderful guides GORD & ALLISON and to our exciting group of new friends too… Wow! What an adventure for sure! I liked how quickly Gord & Allison remembered our names and how they freely chatted with us during the tour as well. (& that they were happy to take a photo with us). Even with a little bit of rain, it didn’t dampen our spirits and there was a variety of ages in our group! FAMILY FUN! A SECOND HONEYMOON! TEAMBUILDING! ETC…

Due to the rain, the Thunderbird Twin Ziplines was closed when we finished our Eco Adventures Tour, so we toured around a bit more on the suspension bridge and around the grounds… BUT we were so beyond excited that it stopped raining (although briefly) and we could do the Thunderbird Twin Ziplines too… an exhilarating ride through the trees!! (Such a fun experience, makes it so worth it walking up the all the rocks and stairs to get there!)

Bring running/hiking shoes with great treads (incase of rain as the rocks are a little slippery). Bring water & snacks if desired. (We brought our Thirty-One Bring-a-Bottle Thermals, and bought water at the Eco Tours Lodge.) Such a variety of things to do. Take LOTS of pictures! 🙂 PS Don’t drop your camera or phone on the Eco Adventures Tour.

Thanks! We will be back!! God bless you all!

Fantastic Experience!
We stopped in at the Scenic Caves on the way home from the family cottage. They are well worth stopping at. Allow a few hours and if you aren’t scared of heights try the long zipline. I have done ziplines all over, I’m in my mid-50s and this was so far the safest one yet. Their stopping system is excellent. No holding the cable with a glove. You just pull down on a bar to go and lift up to slow down. It’s a long line (over half a mile) but seemed so short. They do have an option to ride again for $10.

These caves aren’t the ones with stalagmites and stalactites but very interesting non-the-less. They are more cliffs and narrow gorges in the escarpment. Lots of signs to tell you about them. There is a bit of physical exertion so be prepared. This is not for anyone with mobility issues. A great adventure for a family though.

You need a wrist band to be in the park. Prices vary depending on what you want to do. Ziplines are optional. There is a cool looking playground near the admissions booth for younger kids. Ours were too old to want to try it. Close-toed shoes are mandatory and if you forget they do sell some in the gift shop. You are not allowed entrance to even the playground without close-toed shoes.

Email Review from a family blogger

From Heather (momstown blogger):
I had the privilege of bringing my family to the Scenic Caves this summer with the other bloggers- (I’m @momstownmedia on twitter) and my 6 year old son had the time of his life. He has been wearing the orange access band on his wrist since we visited in August. He just broke it and is devastated. He wore it to remember the visit.   (Note:  We sent this fella a new bracelet to wear! )

Review from Paul, High School:
I just wanted to express our thanks for such an amazing experience for the kids.  Your staff was incredible; kind, humourous, safe.  The students really connected with them in such a short time which really is a testament to the people you have on board.  I have to say that I overheard a conversation among some of my girls (who can be very difficult to please particularly with “outdoorsy” activities)  They were commenting among each other about how much better this trip was for their grad than something like Canada’s Wonderland.  The eco-adventure tour was something that they’ll remember for years to come.  Their one regret, however, was that they didn’t get to do the Twin Tower zipline or actually go into the caves.  Though, I also overheard a few students say that they were going to come back with their parents this summer!  That’s a great endorsement for the park that people would want to return.  On that note, this is an experience that I’ll share with my colleagues at other schools and it will also be on our list of repeat-experiences!
