What makes a night snowshoe hike unique?Guided night snowshoe hike fun

At night, Scenic Caves transforms into a different world.

The trails you may have hiked or cross-country skied now look completely different.  As dusk turns to twilight your eyes adapt and you see the landscape in an extraordinary way.

Your depth perception is skewed due to the reflections and shadows. The ability to distinguish color and your peripheral vision are altered.

Your senses are more alert at night than in the daytime. You hear a rustle in the bushes, the cry of an owl, the whisper of the wind. The smallest creatures seem to make the biggest sounds.  Guided night snowshoe hike through forest

You breathe in the forest fragrances which surround you.

Every sense is more intense.

Your spine tingles with excitement. It’s a thrilling and magical experience.

The Setting

The moon shines bright as the ‘man in the moon’ smiles from above. Starlight shimmers against a sparkling blanket of snow. Trees are silhouetted against the inky blackness. You realize your place in the expanse of the universe.

The Adventure

Your experienced guides ensure a safe and fascinating trek, sharing personal stories about the wildlife and habitat of this designated UNESCO biosphere reserve.

After warming up through entertaining exercises and games, you romp on trails that wind through majestic 100 foot tall trees, beside shallow creeks, through open fields, up and down the rises and falls of the terrain.

You feel like you are standing at the edge of the world when you reach Lookout Point.  It’s the highest of the Niagara Escarpment.

At southern Ontario’s longest Suspension Bridge, the glow of the ski hills and sparkling lights of 10,000 sq. km. of villages scattered across south Georgian Bay leave a unforgettable imprint on your memory.night-view-from-suspension

Upon returning to the main, warm up with a cup of hot chocolate or hot cider.
