VISITING WITH CHILDREN
If you have children, a visit to Scenic Caves is a special opportunity
to spark their curiosity about geology, chemistry, biology, archaeology
and history all at once! You can enchant them with stories about
how caves are formed, how organisms survive in caves and some of
the important roles that caves have played in human history.
Take a moment to review our Virtual Tour and Natural History where
we've outlined interesting historical tidbits and intriguing facts
that will help set the stage for young minds to begin their exploration
of our unique nature reserve.

- If you are adventuring with small children into the Caves,
be aware that strollers
not permitted because they are dangerous due to narrow trails, steep slopes
and/or stairs.
- Bring a backpack carrier.
The ones that have the child riding at the front of your body are ideal for
the hike.
- Baby front/backpack carriers are available on site.
- There are no restrooms along the route, so if you discover
that you should have gone before you went. Need we say more?
- Food and beverage services are available in our on-site snack
bar. You are also welcome to pack a lunch or snacks to enjoy
in our restful picnic areas.
- Sunscreen and a hat are recommended for all family members
during the hot summer months.
- Proper footwear is essential: running or hiking shoes
are required
