1. Question: Can I bring a stroller into the park?
Answer: Strollers are only allowed in the playground and picnic area. They are not allowed in the caves area or down to the Suspension Bridge. It would be impossible to maneuver a stroller through the Caves and Caverns and it would not be safe to take one down to the bridge either. In those areas, babies have to be carried in a baby carrier. We offer baby carriers for our customers to borrow at no charge.
2. Question: What if it rains?
Answer: The Eco Adventure Tours go rain or shine. If there are high winds or lightning then they can be cancelled and be rescheduled.
The Caves/Caverns are very rarely cancelled due to bad weather. If there is very heavy rain and lightning, the trails may be closed for a short period until the weather subsides. If the weather is questionable it is best to call ahead to make sure we are open. 705-446-0256. Weather forecast is also included on our website www.sceniccaves.com
Note: Visitors should note that the trails through the Caves/Caverns and Suspension Bridge area all in the open, so one should be prepared and bring a raincoat/poncho.
3. Question: Do we have to make a reservation to do the Caves and Suspension Bridge?
Answer: No, you do not need to make a reservation for any of the self-guided walking trails to the Caves/Caverns, Mini Golf, Gemstone Mining & Suspension Bridge. Please note that we sell our last ticket 2 hours before closing. Running shoes/hiking boots are required. Seasonal hours are updated on our website www.sceniccaves.com
4. Question: What are the age restrictions for doing the Eco Tour and its Tree Top walk and Zip lines?
Answer: There are no age restrictions but there are height and weight restrictions for the Eco Tour. Participants must be 4’8” tall (or be with someone 5’4” or taller) and weigh between 80lbs – 250lbs. 5. Question: What are the age restrictions for the Suspension Bridge and Caves?
Answer: There are no age restrictions for either areas, but children should be able to walk securely on their own, handle steep stairs and always be accompanied and supervised by a parent or adult.
6. Question: Can I get a gift certificate for someone?
Answer: Yes, we sell gift certificates. Call the Caves or Eco Adventure Tour office directly and it can be done over the phone with a credit card then we can mail it out to you. Call 705-446-0256. We expect to offer this service on line soon, mostly likely with Pay-Pal.
7. Question: Can I bring my small dog to the Scenic Caves?
Answer: We are sorry but we insist on our No Pets Policy for the enjoyment of all our guests Dogs or cats, not matter how small or how cute are not permitted. Please call us if you need the names of some pet boarding businesses in the area. 705-446-0256.
8. Question: Why do I need running shoes at the Caves?
Answer: Scenic Caves Nature Adventures strives to provide a safe and unique recreational experience for people of all ages. Our attraction is committed to preserving the natural, environmental, and historical significance of an important site on the Niagara Escarpment.
We offer our visitors a unique opportunity to experience our natural wonders through education, environment and leisure , However, with so many uneven surfaces, we want everyone to have safe footing; therefore running shoes or hiking boots are mandatory. If you forget, there are many retailers in the area who sell this type of footwear and we carry a selection in our gift shop.
9. Question: Are the Caves/Caverns and Eco Adventure Tours open on Holiday weekends and Holidays?
Answer: Yes, we are open through Thanksgiving weekend.
10. Question: Is there a time limit on how long I can stay in the Park?
Answer: Guests are welcome to stay until the park closes; tickets are available up to 2 hours before closing.
11. Question: How physically demanding is the walk through the Caves/Caverns and down to the Suspension Bridge?
Answer: The Caves trails involve some stairs and steep climbs but should be accessible for most people. Anyone in the party not comfortable with the stairs and trails can wait in the picnic area, playground or fish pond grounds. (Children should never be left alone in these areas.)
There is a people mover that takes visitors to the Suspension Bridge and back again.
In addition Rocky the Train gives rides around the picnic and playground area.
